“Emergency COVID-19 Daycare for the Essential Employee"

At a time when we all need more faith, more hope, more love…we are here to live out the love of Christ

"And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love.  But the greatest of these is love”- 1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV

Starting April 7th, 2020, for the next 8-9 weeks, the Faith-Based community is collaborating to provide emergency school-age child-care to essential employees during the COVID-19 crisis.

About Our Mission:

After hearing the news on March 13th that all public schools would be closing, the Faith-Based leaders of the Wabash Valley knew they wanted to use their leadership skills to help our children during the COVID-19 Pandemic. A gathering of area pastors and Faith-Based organizations met the following morning to discuss how we could use our collective skills to ease the burden of mass food distribution and child care for school-aged students.  Decidedly, the child care issue would be the hardest to address.  A leadership committee was soon formed and with a God who makes the impossible possible, a program was created to assist our families in need within a week!  We are so thankful for all who stand unified in our desire to show the love of Christ with our hands and feet to those who need it the most as we walk through this together.

While we are pleased to provide a free referral service, we cannot legally endorse or recommend any one program. The list of facilities and providers you receive are referrals, not recommendations. Every effort is made to supply you with up-to-date information.

The Child Care Site list will contain the child care program’s contact information, location, days and times care is available.  We maintain confidentiality of all information we receive from you.

What Leaders

are Saying:

Abby Desboro

"The United Way understands the importance of childcare for those who are working to protect our community from healthcare workers, law enforcement, and more during this unprecedented time.  We applaud and support the way the Faith-Based  community is banding together to create a safe and secure place for children to be protected while their parents must work to keep our community going.”

- Abby Desboro,

United Way of the Wabash Valley

Mayor Duke Bennett

"I support these efforts to provide child care for health care workers and first responders during this coronavirus pandemic."

- Duke Bennett

Mayor City of Terre Haute

Senator Jon Ford

"I was so pleased and so happy to see the faith-based community come together to provide child care for essential employees in our community. This is a great example of neighbors helping neighbors and what makes our community great."

- Jon Ford,

Indiana State Senator

Dr. Rob Haworth

"We will never be able to measure the impact our faith-based community is having on our students during this difficult time. Starting with food distribution and now child care, we are so grateful they not only saw the need but rallied their members to stand in the gap and alleviate shortfalls. We are so appreciative and know our children are the real winners."

- Dr. Rob Haworth, Superintendent, Vigo County School Corporation

Gov Eric Holcomb

"Thanks to all the faith leaders for realizing the church is a body, not a building, especially in the difficult and different days ahead."

- Eric Holcomb, Governor of Indiana  March 23, 2020
